Concours International de la Photo Animalière et de de Nature 2008
Over the past years I have heard a lot about a special nature photography festival in France. It is held in the end of November, at the arrival of thousands of Cranes at the Lac du Der nearby the festival in the village of Montier-en-Der. During the festival you see and hear cranes flying over the village of Montier-en-Der, giving the festival a very special atmosphere. This is the biggest nature photography festival in the world with 83 photo exhibitions and more than 35.000 people visiting in 2008.
This year was the first year for me to visit the festival and to participate in the prestious international photo competition that is organised anually. And to my surprise this first year I was awarded with the first price in the bird category. For more information about the annual festival, take a look at:

ICF Pro-Tour results
ICF fosters conservation of wildlife through sustainable development, using the power of photography to integrate art, education, and natural history. ICF hosts the Pro-Tour, the world's richest nature photography tournament, featuring international nature photographers randomly teamed with regional landowners. The 2008 Pro-Tour of Nature Photography: Coastal Bend of Texas took place during the month of April, 2008.
Last month ICF proudly announced the winning Landowner / Photographer teams from the 2008 Pro-Tour. And I'm happy to announce that the JHA-ranch/Doest-Photography team was among the winners. Ten of my photographs were among the best 100 competition images and the overal portfolio reached a fifth place.

Website Update

Dear all,

As you might know I try to update this website on a monthly basis, adding a new Photograph Of The Month (POTM) every month. However, since it is hard to keep the galleries up to date, I try to add new photographs to the website once in a while. This time I have added a new page to both the Birds and Mammals portfolio. The Landscapes and Flora portfolios will be updated later during the year.

You also might have noticed that I won't be organizing workshops during the following month. Running workshops throught WildImages has been very pleasant, but since I would like to focus more on my own photographic work we have decided to end our cooperation. I will be organizing some workshops again in 2010 to Svalbard, Costa Rica and Swedish Lapland. More information will be available on this website later during the year.

I would like to thank you again for visiting Doest Photography! Let's make 2009 a wonderful year, with lots of beautiful photographic oppertunities and wildlife interactions.
